VR Game - VRaMaze

Level Design

This is the virtual reality environment I created for the game. The player using the VR headset will see a different environment than the other players using the monitor. The secret basement is not only the place where our evil genius is washing his clothes, but also a laboratory for all kinds of experiments on live mice.

Because we had little experience with virtual reality and how to boost performance, we decided to keep the complexity of the objects and lightning to a minimum.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This was a student project I was working on while studying at SAE Institute Vienna. The game is called VRaMaze and is an asymmetric virtual reality party game. Up to four players can take control of robotic mices and compete against the player using the virtual reality headset. The goal for the mices is to find the keycard and bring it to the end of the labyrinth before time runs out. Every mice is on its own, so watch out for the other players! Additionally the player using the VR headset can move parts of the labyrinth and activate traps to make things even harder,

3D Modelling & Sculpting

This is the player character as seen by the players using the monitor. While the VR player only sees ordinary mices, the players in the labyrinth will see each other as futuristic robo mices. Each player has a different color

The character was creating using Autodesk Maya for the blockout and retopology, Zbrush for more details and Substance Painter for the textures.
